There are a multitude of walks and rambles in and around the Shefford area, some light easy and relaxing and some more challenging for hills and distance, but there are no mountains so the views of "big skies" are always there.
Cycling through the outlying villages of the main roads will take you away from the majority of traffic making the experience a fresher and less stressful exprience. You might want to ride through the picturesque villages or rough it in Rowney Warren on your mountain bike.
As you are in the area of the Shefford and District Angling Association, purchase your fishing permit and feel free to enjoy the choice of location and fish to catch. There are golf courses close and some further afield. Beadlow Manor Golf is the closest and most popular, but Henlow Golf Club and Mount Pleasant Golf Club are also within easy. So if variety is what you require golfing around Shefford then feel free to endulge
There are some impressive landscapes in and around Shefford and some quaint and picturesque villages around Mid Bedfordshire, such as Old Warden. You may just want to sit and paint. Shefford has its own Art Society if you require more information.
Shefford is not a large town and therefore limited to smaller shops with no large chain stores except the supermarkets and the pharmacy. However that makes it unique in that you might pick up something unique here off the beaten track.
