There are many walks in around Shefford and some that take you to the peaceful areas of nature and views outside of the town. Some of the walks are gentle and short, some more invigorating. Good for walking the dog, walking off dinner or just getting out into the air.
All the walks above have been produced by the Shefford Parish Paths Partnership (P3) Group together with Bedfordshire County Council. The P3 group have more information and experience of the walks and keep the town updated on walks, rambling and information at the Town Hall Meeting Rooms on Northbridge Street.
The Navigator's Way follows, in part, the old River Ivel Navigation and various paths leading over rivers, old locks, through and skirting woodland... getting in touch with nature. Similarly the Henlow Lake and Riverside walk leads you through land and water nature and conservation areas.
Rowney Warren and Chicksands Woods are pure escape, light and dark dense wooded areas with open breathing spaces for wildlife to thrive and different non-pine trees to express themselves
